G-Land Surf or Plengkung Beach is a paradise for surfers that is widely known for its great waves. Its legendary waves, called as “The Seven Giant Waves Wonder”, are seven rolls of waves which height is similar to a two-storey building.

Located in such a dense forest within the area of Taman Nasional Alas Purwo, G-Land Surf is often misunderstood as a part of Bali. It particularly occurs when the tourists come to this hidden paradise via Bali. There are, in fact, two ways you can choose to reach G-Land Surf, via Bali as priorly mentioned or via Banyuwangi, the most eastern part of Java.

You can get to G-Land Surf via Bali by car within half-a-day overland trip, or alternatively, you can use a fast boat trip which only needs 2 hoursfrom Kuta Reef. The second choice is actually preferred as it is faster. This fast boat trip is provided by the surf camp located in G-Land Surf that you can book prior to your trip.

The recommended G-Land’s surf camp that you can choose is Jack’s Surf Camp. Jack’s Surf Camp is renowned for its closest distance to the surf spots and the numerous services it offers, including the delightful activities you can enjoy other than surfing.

If you wish to get to G-Land Surf via Banyuwangi, then you can only choose an overland trip. Once you are in the downtown of Banyuwangi, you can directly head to Taman Nasional Alas Purwo by car. You will be asked to pay for IDR 30,000 (for domestic tourists) or IDR 250,000 (international tourists) to enter the National Park.

Then, you can continue the journey by renting a particular car provided by Taman Nasional Alas Purwo because personal car is not allowed to enter the National Park. It costs approximately IDR 200,000 which can fit up to six persons.The journey from the entrance of Taman Nasional Alas Purwo to G-Land Surf will take around 45 minutes long in which you will be presented with an enchanting scenery of a dense natural forest and, perhaps, some endangered animals.
